Owner Roy Taylor has spent more than 30 years perfecting his craft as a professional painter. After running his own painting business for over 15 years, Roy opened Refreshed Furnishings in Morehead City in 2024, creating a place where his skills in painting, refinishing, and woodworking could be shared directly with the community.
Roy’s expertise goes far beyond a brush or spray gun. From restoring fragile antiques to creating bold modern pieces, he combines craftsmanship, repair expertise, and custom CNC carving to transform furniture into one-of-a-kind designs.

In 2025, Refreshed Furnishings introduced a state-of-the-art laser cleaning system, allowing old finishes, paint, and rust to be removed with incredible precision while protecting the surface beneath. This technology helps ensure every piece starts with the best possible foundation for refinishing.

Behind the scenes, Roy’s wife Sheree is the glue that keeps everything running smoothly. You’ll often see her up front in the store welcoming customers and answering phone calls, making sure every visitor feels right at home.

Together, Roy and Sheree share one simple belief: quality furniture is worth investing in. Whether it’s a treasured family heirloom or a piece waiting to be rediscovered, they bring the care and craftsmanship needed to give it new life.
